In our efforts to bring you the best library service possible, the library has joined the Libraries of Middlesex Automation Consortium (LMxAC). During the transition, we will be unable to accept any holds between May 15 and May 31. Please note that holds placed directly by patrons during that time will also be lost. We are sorry for this inconvenience and look forward to coming back better than ever on June 1.

We are pleased to announce that the firewall for the library's computer network will be undergoing a major upgrade on Wednesday, May 31. Unfortunately, this will require the shutting down of our Internet network for a period of approximately two hours, most likely to occur between 1:00 and 3:00 PM. It is possible that subsequent sporadic outages may occur up until about 5:00 PM that afternoon. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

From May 26th - 31st, as we transition into our new system, we will continue to be able to check out library materials but will not be able to perform any other functions, including item check in, processing of payments; updating existing library cards, registering new patrons, or looking up anyone’s account. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR LIBRARY CARD with you as we will need the barcode number on your card to be able to check anything out to you on these two dates.

Please see our current want ad under the Employment Opportunities tab on the right hand side of our web page.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library was organized in 1967 to serve as a link between the library and the community. The Friends enhance the services the library provides to the public by underwriting special children’s programs, sponsoring our circulating museum passes, our subscription to Wowbrary and our subscription to Bookpage, among other projects. Membership dues provide much of the treasury, but the annual book and jewelry sale is an important fundraiser.

Many members help out at the sales by sorting and selling items. The Friends also maintain an ongoing sale of donated used paperbacks and magazines in the lobby of the library.

See Paula Poundstone's Public Service Announcement for Friends of the Library USA.

The Friends are an independent, tax-exempt organization dedicated to assisting the library and welcomes new members all year long. Memberships start at $10. All our fund raising efforts go toward helping support the library’s multitude of special programs and augmenting its limited budget for materials for children and adults.
