Really Good Book Discussion
Wednesday, January 10, 2018, 07:00pm

The Springfield Free Public Library's (Really Good!) Book Discussion Group will meet on Wed, January 10th at 7 p.m. to discuss National Book Award and PEN/Faulkner Award finalist Station Eleven: A Novel by Emily St. John Mandel. This is the re-scheduled date due to the snowstorm on Thursday, Jan 4.

A famous Hollywood actor has a heart attack on stage during a production of King Lear. On the same night, a devastating flu pandemic arrives in the city. Within weeks, civilization as we know it comes to an end. Fifteen years later, a small troupe of actors and musicians roam the scattered outposts of the Great Lakes region, dedicating themselves to keeping the remnants of art and humanity alive. However, they encounter a violent prophet who threatens their existence.

Discussions take place at 7 p.m. in the Staff Room. Refreshments are served. New members are welcome. To reserve your copy of the book call 973-376-4930 x228 or send an email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
