SPRINGFIELD LIBRARY’S CHILDREN’S ROOM TO CLOSE AUGUST 26-29 FOR PAINTING

The children’s room of the Springfield Free Public Library will be closed to the public from August 26-29 for painting. As library staff members prepare the room, beginning August 23, juvenile non-fiction titles and juvenile graphic novels may not be available to patrons. Public access to the room is anticipated to resume Tuesday, September 4.

Spring International Film: Back to Burgundy

The Spring International Film Festival concludes on Thursday, May 16th. The library will screen Back to Burgundy (2017) at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Three siblings reunite at their home in picturesque Burgundy to save the family vineyard in this tender tale of a new generation finding its own unique blend from acclaimed director Cedric Klapisch (L’Auberge Espagnole). In French with English subtitles. Starring Pio Marmai, Ana Girardot, Francois Civil, Jean-Marc Roulot and Maria Valverde. 113 minutes. Not rated.

Funding for the film program has been made possible by the NJ State Council on the Arts, Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs. Additional funding is also provided by the Friends of the Springfield Free Public Library.
