Donald B. Palmer Museum
The Donald B. Palmer Museum is housed within the Springfield Free Public Library. It contains an exhibit space for rotating exhibitions which have included artwork, sculpture, photography and mixed media works.
Artist Application
The Palmer Museum is currently accepting applications from artists who would like to exhibit their work in the museum during 2024.
Applicants are asked to submit a current resume, 10 slides, prints, computer files representative of the work and a stamped self-addressed envelope that will accommodate the return of submitted samples. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Due to increased use of the museum for library programming, sculpture cannot be exhibited at this time unless the pieces can be hung on the wall or displayed on wall-mounted shelves, with a limited amount of pedestal space also available.
The 36x50 foot Palmer Museum was opened at its current site in 1975. Since 1992, it has provided space for the exhibition of art and historical works including photography, sculpture, paintings, ceramics, glass work, handmade paper and prints.
For further information about the facility and the application process, please speak to Library Director Bonnie Lafazan at 973-376-4930 ext. 227.
