In this engaging video program, Wendy Jones, President of Ida Bell Publishing, interviews Margaret Bandrowski, former President of the Springfield Historical Society. Together, they explore the pivotal 1780 Battle of Springfield — why it mattered then, and why it continues to matter today. 

Both their conversation and Denise DeVone’s powerful photographs vividly bring the battle — and Springfield’s Revolutionary history — to life. The video was edited by Les Henson.

As General Nathanael Greene once said, “We fight, get beat, rise, and fight again.” His words capture the resilience of the Continental Army and the enduring spirit of Springfield during one of New Jersey’s defining Revolutionary War moments.

Following the screening, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a lively Q&A discussion with historian Margaret Bandrowski.
