Wednesday, March 08, 2023, 07:00pm
The Springfield Free Public Library will host Sarah Birnbach, author of "A Daughter's Kaddish: My year of Grief, Devotion and Healing" at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 8, in the library's Donald B. Palmer Museum.
After a brief explanation of the significance of the Kaddish prayer in Jewish practice, Ms Birnbach will discuss the particular challenges she faced in finding a place to say this prayer each day while also traveling extensively for her work as a motivational speaker. This will be followed by a discussion of how the writing process became a transformative part of Ms. Birnbach's experience, including how she was able to get her book both published and reviewed. After the reading of a brief excerpt from the book, there will be a question and answer period.
