Evanston's Living History: A Documentary and Discussion with the Filmmaker, Craig Dudnick
Monday, March 27, 2023, 07:00pm
Join the Springfield Free Public Library via zoom at 7:00 PM on Monday evening, March 27, for a virtual screening of the documentary, "Evanston's Living History," to be immediately followed by a discussion with the filmmaker, Craig Dudnick.

The documentary follows a story that begins with horrific lynching of Anthony Crawford, a prominent citizen of Abbeville, South Carolina, and then follows the lives of Crawford's descendants and allies as they fight for the passage of United States Senate Resolution 39 which apologized for the failure of the Sentate to enact anti-lynching legislation.

The documentary also focuses on the link between Abbeville, South Carolina and Evanston, Illinois; between the years 1910 and 1920, approximately 6,000 people migrated from Abbeville to Evanston in search of a better life.

This virtual program is free and open to all members of the general public, and registration is not required. The link to attend is this program is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89617525379?pwd=bUF0cmw4V2ZDUm0yRmd0NnNpZkZPdz09
